Installing MBAM 2.5 integrated with SCCM 2012 – Part 1

This install will be done on windows server 2012 R2 and SQL server 2012 SP1 .

Already Installed in the environment

(If you do not have AD and SCCM running , You would need to install that first )

Windows server 2012 R2 AD Domain Controller

SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 with Primary site server

 

Software and files needed to install MBAM 2.5 integrated with SCCM 2012 –

Download following software and files

Windows server 2012 R2

SQL Server 2012 SP1

MDOP 2013 ( This contains MBAM 2.5 install files )

ASP.NET MVC 4 Runtime

MOF files for configuration manager

a. Configuration.mof  Download here   (This file is merged with configuration.mof on SCCM server)

b. SMS_Def.mof  Download here (This file is imported on SCCM server extend classes )

MDOP Group policy templates . Download here

 

Server and Domain Infrastructure needed for install

AD Domain Controller

Primary or Central SCCM Server running SCCM 2012 R2 SP1

Member Server running windows server 2012 R2 joined to domain ( Microsoft recommends 3 server install , I am going to install MBAM on single server integrated with SCCM 2012 )

MBAM and SCCM resides on two separate servers.

Components of MBAM 2.5 will be installed as detailed in diagram below

On server SQL 01 install IIS and SQL

Install IIS with following features along with default options on server SQL 01

IIS Features

NET Framework 3.5.1 features:

  • .NET Framework 3.5.1
  • WCF Activation
    • HTTP Activation
    • Non-HTTP Activation

NET Framework 4.5 features

  •  WCF Services
    • TCP Activation

Windows Process Activation Service:

  • Process Model
  • .NET Environment
  • Configuration APIs

IIS Role Services

Common HTTP Features:

  • Static Content
  • Default Document

Application Development:

  • ASP.NET
  • .NET Extensibility
  • ISAPI Extensions
  • ISAPI Filters

Security:

  • Windows Authentication
  • Request Filtering

Install SQL 2012 R2 on SQL 01 with following components

  • Database engine
  • Reporting services (native)
  • Analysis services
  • Management tools complete

    Hi!
    I`m trying to get Compliance reports work. Here you mention Integration services SQL components (screenshot shows analysis services checked?). In system Prerequisites i haven’t found mention about them ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn645331.aspx ).
    Are they are necessary and mbam`s install doesn`t check this?

      Hi Yareg ,
      Sorry for the late reply . It was typo for integration services , Thanks for catching it. I have updated with analysis services. But whether you really need analysis services , I would say go ahead and install it without analysis services , if it works let me know.
